RENOVATION OF A BUILDING FACADE BY GREEN ENGINEERING IN DRANCY (93)

PROJECT

Contracting authority : Office Municipal des HLM de Drancy
Chief engineer : Agency Andreï Ferraru & AR Architectes
Mission : High Environmental Quality architecture
Works outlay : 1700 k€
Location : Drancy

The eco-remodeling of the building facade of Drancy's resistance district takes into account 3 environmental targets :
- harmonious relationship between the building and its surroundings
- sustainable control of rainwater by green structures and storage tanks
- control of fouled air coming out of the car parks by a green roof which provides filtration and contaminants degradation
- optimized control of energy thanks to the installation of thermal solar panels for the production of domestic hot water and of photovoltaics for the production of green electricity

Eco-building targets :

Target 1 : Harmonious relationship between the building and its surroundings. Perfect visual insertion of the building in its surroundings, renovated facades by green engineering which allows a better landscape integration and offers a good thermal resistance.

Limitation of the visual impact of facilities by a green roof well integrated in the landscape.

Eco-control targets :

Target 5 : Optimized water control. Rainwater control through green walls and green roof assuring a buffer role for water volumes collected on the site. Green structures discharge their water overflow in a storage tank. It will be used to water green ways and to wash public roads.

Target 13 : Optimization of external air quality. Treatment of the air coming out of the underground car parks by a vegetable filter located on the roof which provides contaminants degradation, among which hydrocarbons and dusts. Car parks air decontamination and no contaminants rejection out of the ventilation circuit.

Target 4 : Optimized energy control. Installation of photovoltaic panels on the facades, enabling the creation of a green power plant with a production capacity of about 27 000 kWh/year. Installation of thermal solar panels enabling domestic hot water heating by an ecological and economical way for 130 inhabitants and saving 60% of energy on a year.
