The thermal refurbishment of the Saint-Just administrative center consists in improving the summer and winter comfort for the users. In addition, the objective is to reduce on a long term the environmental and financial impacts of the building on its surroundings.
The refurbishment of the building uses bioclimatic design by taking advantage of the site and its surroundings. Therefore, we propose to insulate from the outside of the facades that mostly suffer from overheating in summer and heat losses in winter. Moreover, a restoration of the other facades is provided as well as the replacement of all the existing windows.
Treated HQE® targets :
Target 1: harmonious relationship between the buildings with its surroundings
Unification off all the existing façades :
-
Refurbishment and cleaning of facades,
-
Replacement of the windows and all solar protections,
-
Painting the walls by the use of 4 shades (off-white, orange-brown, black and light metal color).
Target 4: energy management
-
Facades with high overheating in summer have been insulated by wooden fiberboards,
-
Facades with high heat losses in winter have been insulated by wooden fiberboards,
-
Sun-breakers have been integrated in front of the windows.
Target 2: integrated choices for construction procedures
-
Insulation by the use of wooden fiberboards,
-
Double glazed windows with low carbon footprint have been used allowing good insulation and hygrometric comfort.
Target 7: maintenance

All the materials that were used on the facades require low maintenance and operating costs.
