Given the overall landscaping and urban characteristics, the construction of the new eco-sewage water treatment plant in Saclas aims to integrate itself into a sensitive, natural environmental setting. Through a planted entrance the plant aim to conserve a façade near river Juine by eco-designing a building complex opened to the public close to an aquatic garden and a wetland.

Treated HQE® targets:

Target 1: Harmonious relation of the buildings with their immediate environment

The project favors a low construction impact in regards to residents nearby. It also shows concern for site integration into a sensitive natural area by using better density and discretion of materials than the previous installation.

 

Target 2: Integrated choices for construction procediors

  • Constructive choices for material durability and adaptability.

  • Constructive choices for easy material maintenance.

  • Choice of construction products to limit impact on the environment and to help to provide a comfortable atmosphere (hydrothermal, visual, acoustic and olfactory)

 

Target 4: Energy control

  • Reduce energy requirements with a sound architectural design. Improve overall shell aptitude to limit heat loss and reduce energy needs in the summer and winter.

  • Reduce primary energy consumption and related pollutions (heating, ventilation, lightning…)

 

Target 5: Water management

  • Infiltration of streaming water via a planted basin.

  • Reducing water proof areas with organic roof.

  • Reducing water proof areas by choosing road coverings made of evergreen type organic hollow-core slabs.
