ECO-CONVERSION OF THE WASTE MOUNTAIN AT SAÏDA, IN LEBANON INTO AN ECOLOGIC PARK

The operation takes place in Saïda, a city of 300 000 inhabitants in the south of Lebanon, local’s historical ex-capital. Situated between the industrial zone and agricultural, on the south of the old city, the aim is to remove a big waste mountain measuring several high meters, 100 meters large, and stretched 1 Km along the littoral.
Project targets :
To replace this recycling center, the project is the following :

Construction of an embankment to gain ground in the sea,

Settle stoking’s center which allows burying wastes,

Environmental house construction to sensibilise the population against pollution,

Ecological park construction which respect the environment much by its visual quality than by the respect of biodiversity, which means diversity of different plant’s species, animals, and living beings.
The objective is to transform a site who represents every thing which is not ecological into a site respectful of the environment, of the nature and the biodiversity, of the local biocenosis
