<\/span><strong><span class=\"fontstyle2\">River Neuve \/ Pierrettes hydraulic system optimisation project <\/span><\/strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\">is set within a context of <\/span><strong><span class=\"fontstyle2\">increased territorial vulnerability to flood risks, exacerbated by climate change<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"fontstyle0\">Located at the <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle2\"><strong>heart of the Wateringues system<\/strong>, <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">the area is subject to the combined eff ects of <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle2\"><strong>heavy rainfall, high tides and storm surges<\/strong>, <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">which limit <\/span><strong><span class=\"fontstyle2\">gravity-based drainage towards the sea.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"fontstyle2\"><br \/><\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">The <\/span><strong><span class=\"fontstyle2\">existing and proposed structures <\/span><\/strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\">(pumping stations, retention basins and associated equipment) aim <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle2\">to <strong>secure water level management, reduce flood risks for urbanised areas<\/strong><\/span><strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\">, and <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle2\">protect populations and<br \/>economic activities<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>.<\/strong> The project also <\/span><strong><span class=\"fontstyle2\">integrates landscape, environmental and heritage considerations<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\">, in order <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle2\">to <strong>reconcile hydraulic performance with sustainable territorial integration.<\/strong><\/span> <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element
