Bioclimatic architecture is expressed through a variety of simple and durable construction choices. Among them, the south-facing wall insulated with raw earth, over 1 meter thick, at the embassy — a true showcase of the project’s environmental approach.
This thick wall, covered with a stone facing and a plaster finish, is designed to block solar radiation and ensure optimal thermal protection all year round (R eq. = 2.50 m².K/W), while contributing to indoor comfort.
Raw earth, a geo-sourced, recyclable, reusable material with a very low carbon footprint, is fully in line with the campus’s goals of environmental sobriety and high environmental quality.
An example among others of a design conceived to meet the climatic challenges of Qatar… with ingenuity, sobriety, and environmental commitment.
