On Friday, June 5, AR ARCHITECTES had the pleasure of participating in the roundtable organized by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE), held on the occasion of World Environment Day and dedicated to France’s role in the ecological transition and to the concrete actions implemented both in France and internationally.

This event was opened by Ms. Barbara POMPILI, Ambassador for the Environment and former French Minister for the Ecological Transition. The discussions then brought together several high-level speakers, including Mr. Lionel FABRE, Deputy Director for Environment and Climate, Ms. Amélie COANTIC, Deputy Commissioner General for Sustainable Development, and Ms. Anne BOILLON, Director of Real Estate and Logistics and Senior Official for Sustainable Development.

Bringing together institutional, diplomatic and technical stakeholders, the roundtable addressed key topics such as French environmental diplomacy, France’s commitments in international climate negotiations, the ecological transformation of public services, and exemplary projects led by the French diplomatic network around the world.

On this occasion, Ruba ALABED, Managing Architect of AR ARCHITECTES and General Delegate of the ADEME International Club, presented the project for the new French Embassy in Qatar, scheduled for delivery in early 2027. Her presentation highlighted the lessons learned from this ambitious operation, designed as a showcase of French expertise in sustainable architecture and environmental quality within a particularly demanding international context.

The presentation generated insightful discussions and received very positive feedback from participants.
